Zootopia (Movie Review)

Release Date: March 4, 2016
Genre: Mystery Cartoon
Synopsis: From the largest elephant to the smallest shrew, the city of Zootopia is a mammal metropolis where various animals live and thrive. When Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law. Determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to solve a mysterious case. Unfortunately, that means working with Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a wily fox who makes her job even harder.

OH MY GOODNESS! This is such a darling movie -- I can't believe i refused to watch it in theaters because this movie made me giggle more than I could handle. LIKE SRSLY though. This movie is to die for because I mean, well, you know.

See?

Speechless.

I loved this movie because it was so kid friendly and so over exaggerated that I couldn't help it. Definitely a great movie to just cuddle down into after something scary which is exactly what I did.

Disney is somewhere in the high upper middle area of likeableness because of the fact that i am a 90s princess girl and well, let's be honest now, they had such a bad streak with movies and TV shows. But they are getting back up there.

4.7 out of 5 stars.

Blair Witch (Movie Review)

Release Date: September 16, 2016
Genre: Horror
Synopsis: A young man and his friends venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mystery surrounding his missing sister. Many believe her disappearance 17 years earlier is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first the group is hopeful, especially when two locals act as guides through the dark and winding woods. As the night wears on, a visit from a menacing presence soon makes them realize that the legend is all too real, and more sinister than they could have ever imagined.

Alex Wingard, director of the recent release, Blair Witch, hasn't disappointed me so far with his ventures into the V/H/S/ series and You're Next. I find his movies rather thrilling and something that keeps me on the edge of my seat.

Blair Witch did no different.

It had me jumping, covering my ears and eyes at the same time, and cowering in my seat. I laugh at the thought because I must look awfully ridiculous sitting in my seat with my knees tucked to my chest.

Like shiet. This movie really got met the guts -- Disgusting, revolting, puke-worthy (Just kidding) but it was terrifying to the point that i had to close my closet door and hide under the covers that night. I also had my best friend walk me to my car because I just couldn't deal with the fact that the witch could come after me and be plotting some alternate vendetta against me.

4.8 out of 5 stars.

Lighter - Gia Riley (Begin Again #1)

Published Date: February 16, 2015
Genre: New Adult
Synopsis: What do you do when you can't save the one you love?

Sophie can’t survive without control. Growing up with an alcoholic father, she craves the discipline of gymnastics. Feeling lost on a brand new college campus, she lets loose for the first time in her life. But with freedom comes consequences. Is one night everything she hopes? Or will she become her own worst nightmare?

Kipton's one year away from graduation. He's never thought beyond a one night stand until meeting his sister’s new roommate. Finally setting his sights on the girl he can't resist, he's more determined than ever when she won't give in to his persuasions. He's always gotten the girl, and he's not about to give up without a fight.

Will Sophie be able to salvage her dreams and wage a war against her own vices? Can she finally let love in? Or will history repeat itself causing her to self-destruct?

Lighter isn't your typical college romance. Darkness suffocates, dreams are dashed, and battles are lost. Love takes on a whole new meaning.

HOLY CRAP, HOLY CRAP, HOLY CRAP, HOLY CRAP.

I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN.

Sophie with the broken home finally escapes that to college. New life, new home, new friends, new stories to unfold. Gia Riley brings the tears to my eyes when we look into Sophie's life. She has had no control over her body but when she finally does, she runs into Kipton.

Heart throb Kipton is full on book boyfriend style.

Although I felt bad for Sophie and her awful life, I think that I just got tired of it all after a few moments. Everything else was fantastic except this portion which brought my mood down like 10x than it should have.

3.7 out of 5 stars.

Falling For My Boss - J.S. Cooper & Helen Cooper (One Night Stand #3)

Published Date: May 16, 2015
Genre: Romance
Synopsis: When Elizabeth Jeffries was hired for a job with her party gram company, she had no idea that her new boss Scott Taylor was going to have such an effect on her. He was a handsome flirt and he liked to push the boundaries of their office relationship. Only Elizabeth, with the guidance of her best friend, has decided to push right back. She wants Scott to know that he’s not the only one that can play games. Thus begins the ultimate game of cat and mouse. They both begin to tease and lure each other into their webs and then something explosive happens. The games go too far and Elizabeth is pushed to the limit. Scott doesn’t know what to think when he finds out Elizabeth’s big secret and the reason why she took the job. The truth causes everything to blow up, however neither one of them were to know that that wasn’t to be the last job that Elizabeth would take that would bring her back into his world.

What can I say about this book other than that it wittingly one of the best romances ever -- Who knew that party grams are the best thing in the world? They can bring the most unpredictable things into your lives.

In Scott Taylor's world? It brought love and a lot laughs and sexiness.

Boss/Worker relationships always are the best things in the world other than Teacher/Student relations because of the fact that I love these power relationships. Elizabeth Jefferies and Scott Taylor brought no other than that.

Falling For My Boss is unfortunately so addicting that you kind of, sort of, have to read this in one sitting. I sure as hell couldn't get over this book until I got into another book... But that's a story for another time.

I don't know about the rest of you bookies, but I always put myself into the story -- Usually as the main character -- and boy, this book took me for a thrill. Luring, teasing, tangling each other into the story and the romance of the Scott Taylor and what he will do to keep one of the best assistants ever.

4.7 out of 5 stars.

Sheriff's Deputy Hayden Yates has worked hard to gain the respect and admiration of her fellow law enforcement officers. She's succeeded so well, in fact, that she's become just one of the guys. Deputy Yates sees right through his ex's ruse—and Boone sees right through Deputy Yates. Hayden might seem all business, but her need for justice comes from a heart that beats with pure passion.

A few dates turn into something more, and as the couple's relationship deepens, so do the threats from his ex. It's up to Hayden to convince Boone the danger is real…before jealous antics escalate to deadly obsession.

When the Bough Breaks (Movie Review)

Release Date: September 9, 2016
Genre: Thriller
Synopsis: A surrogate mom for a couple becomes dangerously obsessed with the soon-to-be father.

Literally... That's the blurb that I found for this movie. I am going to say this here and now. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WATCHING THIS MOVIE.

How it doesn't capture your attention and when it does, it just deflates yet again towards the supposed climax.

Let's let that sink in.

"A surrogate mom for a couple becomes dangerously obsessed wit the soon-to-be father." WOW. Thank you for telling me the whole movie in one sentence. I really thought this movie would be better but the trailer was the whole movie. The blurb was the whole damn movie.

Why waste your time when you know what it's about?

Now a letter to the character of Anna:

Dear Anna,

Please stop being this obsessed and whiny girl who is a vindictive little person.

Why can't you let the happy couple be a happy couple?

Because you didn't have a happy childhood, right?

"Feel me, John." Like dude, if he wanted to feel you, he would. BUT NO. He has his wife and is damn happy with her until you started wreaking havoc.

It's not even your child.

Sincerely,

Everyone who wasted their time (other than getting caught up in sleep).

ARC: Ruin - Clarissa Wild

Published Date: September 20, 2016
Genre: Romance/New Adult
Synopsis: Maybell Fairweather was the girl of my dreams.

Always smiling brightly, she kept going, despite the names her classmates called her behind her back.
She was full of curiosity and independence, the extent of which I could only be jealous of. Even though she had all odds stacked against her, she knew what she wanted from life and pursued it, no matter the cost.

She was completely my opposite in every way.
Perfect, even though she couldn’t see it.
Perfect … until me.

Because this is the story of how I ruined her.

He will be my RUIN.
She will be my RUIN.

Clarissa Wild continuously astounds me with her writing skills and Ruin didn't disappoint like I thought it would. There were parts in the story that really blew my mind and before I got to the end-word of Wild's life, I kind of figured out that this book was based off a true story. (If you follow Clarissa on Facebook/Instagram/Etc).

Whenever authors give you a more outstanding look into their lives and how they felt and what exactly inspired it really got me in the guts.

I was expecting some supernatural thing from her because of the cover but don't underestimate the power of Ruin.

I know I probably say this a lot but it was heart-breaking as much heart-mending.

5 out of 5 stars.

READ THIS.

Fighting Silence - Aly Martinez (On The Ropes #1)

Published Date:February 23, 2015
Genre: New Adult/Romance
Synopsis: Sound is an abstract concept for most people. We spend our lives blocking out the static in order to focus on what we believe is important. But what if, when the clarity fades into silence, it's the obscure background noise that you would give anything to hold on to?

I've always been a fighter. With parents who barely managed to stay out of jail and two little brothers who narrowly avoided foster care, I became skilled at dodging the punches life threw at me. Growing up, I didn’t have anything I could call my own, but from the moment I met Eliza Reynolds, she was always mine. I became utterly addicted to her and the escape from reality we provided each other. Throughout the years, she had boyfriends and I had girlfriends, but there wasn't a single night that I didn’t hear her voice.

You see, meeting the love of my life at age thirteen was never part of my plan. However, neither was gradually going deaf at the age of twenty-one.

They both happened anyway.

Now, I'm on the ropes during the toughest battles of my life.
Fighting for my career.
Fighting the impending silence.
Fighting for her.

Every night, just before falling asleep, she sighs as a final conscious breath leaves her.

I think that's the sound I'll miss the most.

Each book in this series can be read as a standalone.

This is one book that I can vouch for without having any incentive behind. Aly Martinez brings a whole new perspective into books with the characters -- So damaged and yet so perfect. I took a chance on the boxset because of the many great reviews.

Till Page and Eliza Reynolds are definitely a book couple that I can love.

Like I said, Martinez gives us a brilliant perspective into new things. One that I definitely did not expect.

Just take a chance and read this book.

Till is finding for himself and his family. A beautiful soul inside and out -- Especially when he is looking to get Eliza back. What Till wants, he gets.

5 out of 5 stars.

Anyone who knows me could tell you, I am a friendly kind of person, never met a stranger and take up conversations any where at any time. I work hard, and my mind never seems to shut down, as I wake up often in the middle of the night with ideas pouring out and demanding to be dealt with. Of course that means much of my books were written in the middle of the night.

I grew up and still live in the great state of Texas where everything is bigger, where we have warm weather and a central location. I love my state, my town, and my family, which includes my four sons, my significant other, and many friends as well.

I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the books that are currently available and hope you will enjoy reading them just as much. And of course, there will be many more stories to come.

Total Dick - Christina Saunders (Bad Bitch #3)

Published Date: July 5, 2016
Genre: Romance/Comedy
Synopsis: I’m your classic skirt chaser. A womanizer. A total d*ck. My reputation is dirtier than a New Orleans street after a Mardi Gras parade. I take unwinnable cases and win them. Where people see defeat, I see a big fat paycheck. And when most men see rejection, it’s because the sexiest woman at the bar has already promised to go home with me.

But Scarlett Carmichael is the one person I can’t seem to conquer. This too-cool former debutante has it all—class, attitude, and a body that begs to be worshipped. I’ve never worked with a person like her before—hell, I’ve never played nice with anyone before in my life, and I’m not about to start with her. This woman wasn’t meant to be played nicely with. It’s going to be dirty. It’s going to be hot. She’s about to spend a lot of time with the biggest d*ck in town. And she’s going to love every minute of it…

What's a normal family without a skirt chaser? We all have one. NOPE. Do not lie to me because I know how true it is. There's that one womanizer/(manner)? The total asshole or dick that we just don't want to like but kind of have to because they bring the fun into everything.

Kennedy is one of those things and boy, does he do it well.

He's even ready to pull the moves on Scarlett Carmichael because well she has the body that he wants. What he doesn't expect is her full on attitude towards him because he has made some poor choices that result him looking like a total asshole and Carmichael definitely calls him out on it.

THAT'S WHO I WANT TO BE WHEN I GROW UP -- JK. I am grown up and I want to change my life other than this blog and family. Ya know? Sentimental towards these things.

Anyways, this book will not only have you laughing but it will definitely keep you on your toes which brings this "who dun it" aspect to it all. You just kind of, sort of, have to fall in love with this.

5 out of 5 stars.

Hardass - Christina Saunders (Bad Bitch #2)

Published Date: July 5, 2016
Genre: Romance/Comedy
Synopsis: I cave in to no one. My hardass exterior is what makes me one of the hottest defense lawyers around. It's why I'm the perfect guy to defend the notorious Bayou Butcher serial killer - and why I'll come out on top.

Except this new associate I've hired is unnaturally skilled at putting chinks in my well-constructed armor. Her brazen talk and fiery attitude make me want to take control of her and silence her - in ways that will keep both of us busy till dawn. She drives me absolutely 100% crazy, but I need her for this case. I need her in my bed. I need her to let loose the man within me who fights with rage and loves with scorching desire...

HOLY SHIT, CHRISTINA SAUNDERS MAY BE ON MY FAVORITE AUTHORS LIST!

I have never laughed so hard in one sitting because page after page, she had me clutching my sides. It also had you fanning yourself and re-reading pages because you just wanted to soak in the goodness of her writing skills.

Washington is a little hardass that does his job when he's asked too but guess what? This little Caroline, -- OH SWEET CAROLINE -- Sorry couldn't resist but she is going to chink away that Wash's hardass exterior and she is going to do it in record time.

Goddamn.

I want more of Wash and Caroline -- Is that too much to ask more in a book? Don't stop at three. I want more criminal defense cases and see how well Wash handles being under the pressure.

5 OUT OF 5 STARS.

Yes... Yes... Yeah, I needed to shout that.

Chaos - Alexis Noelle

Published Date: July 18, 2016
Genre: Romance
Synopsis: CHAOS
That's my life. No other way to describe it.
As the Sargent-at-Arms for the Deathstalkers MC, my days are filled with
Constant craziness and crap.
But I like it.
It's who I am. And what I'm all about.
Finally, after years of Hell, everything feels like it's right where it's supposed to be.
Except with her
She's far from where she's supposed to be.
Tracie is so damned determined to be with someone who isn't "one of us."

Delusional.
That's what she is.
Downright insane at times.
Those idiots can't handle her.
Will never be able to handle her.
And I'm about to show her why.
And she'll finally understand.
Because this life ain't for everyone,
Especially when danger lurks in the shadows of all the
Chaos.

Chaos is the right word to explain this book. I couldn't keep up with this book because it pulled me left, right, up, and down.

I can't say whether i liked this book or not but it was decent to the point of a thrilling romance but it was so typical that I was over this within a heartbeat... Alexis Noelle did a pretty good job at descriptions and keeping you on your toes but you kind of figured out who the antagonist was halfway through.

With Twist, Torch, or something as his name -- It was a cute love story with a twist to it.

3 out of 5 stars.
