A huge thank you to XPRESSO tours for putting together this amazing tour and bringing me one of the most unique books my eyes have feasted upon. Keep reading for a review and a giveaway. ;)

Review:
Andee is definitely one of the most unique characters that I have ever met. She's dark and she makes my heart ultimately break. Andee is someone who is socially ostracized for her unique abilities.
I'm not going to lie, this is a very long book but the fact that I got halfway through it just after the first day is definitely an accomplishment for myself.
I kind of fell in love with Andee. Want to know why? She's weird and she isn't afraid to show it. She's damaged. She's smart. She's brave.
There are times that I wish that I could just insert myself in the story because the scary part about it is that this book is a sick mix of Edgar Allen Poe and some crazy mix of fantasy. I just can't get enough of this book.
Now personally, this whole book was a whole lot of crazy shite that I cannot even wrap my head around.
It's centered on European myths and it truly was a terrifying and different take on the books that I usually read. It still had its creepy love story in the background but I can't deny that this was an interesting book. With a rating of 3 out of 5 stars, I can say that if you love creepy books and urban myths and folklore, this is definitely a book for you.

ARC: Across The Hall - Kylie Walker

Published Date: February 24, 2016
Genre: Romance
Synopsis: Jude Falken has just been released from prison on good behavior. He's hot as hell, owns one of the largest fashion empires & has women coming and going day and night. A delivery girl that shows up at his loft leaves him intrigued.

She's gorgeous, shy & totally off limits.
She's his best friends little sister.
Jude knows better, he swore he wouldn't go there.

After returning from a year long internship in Paris, Jillian Warren is back in her hometown of Manhattan and steering clear of men. Her new neighbor has her curious, wanting to know more. Her roommate & brother keeps telling her stay away but she can't. As their worlds collide, Jillian soon finds out there is a darker side to Jude and she will soon be fighting her own emotions and memories of the one man she left in Paris. Her past will soon catch up with her. She will be forced to decide.
Big brother's best friend or the hurtful memories of her past in Paris.

Across The Hall by Kylie Walker was my first book by her and I can appreciate her writing style. Coming across the storyline, I swooned because it was the classic bad boy but it wasn't like he wanted to be that and let it rule his life.

Jude Faulken makes you fan yourself in more ways than one. However, when I first read his name... Yeah... I sung The Beatles out loud. Am I ashamed? No, not really. HEY JUDEEEEEEEE. Okay. I swear, I am done. He definitely made it onto my book boyfriends list because of the fact that he makes your body feel hot as he flirts his way into Jillian's life.

When the plot twist hit me, I started to bawl my eyes out. I wasn't prepared to say the least. Jillian and Jude's relationship is one of the classics and I can fall hard for the two of them being together. I smell a second novel coming, Kylie, and I cannot wait to sink my teeth into it.

I rate this a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. Blog you later, awesome book nerds.

Shadowhunters: "Major Arcana" (Ep. 7)

Air Date: February 23, 2016
Genre: Young Adult
Oh my gosh! Yes! See this episode took me to a new place! I got what I asked for and I got more and more action as the episode unraveled. When we left off, Izzy forced herself to be more like her mother and less like herself. Yeah... I actually felt sympathy for her. Giving up her love for Meliorn to take the family heat.
In this episode, you will find more and more of Jace and Clary's relationship and you are definitely going to have to watch this episode because you'll fall in love with them even more!
You're going to squeal with delight in this episode... I mean I did just a little.
There is the romance. The action. The monsters and demons.

I think that the Shadow world has stolen my heart.

The Mortal Cup is found and the pieces of the storyline are starting to fit together. I know that I started off the reviews as not so hot but after this episode, they are starting to get better and better. Maybe not close to the books but definitely close enough.

Simon though clinically insane, I still love the hot nerd. He's too hard to resist. Plus, he is probably the only one that makes me laugh in the show genuinely.

With the rating of 4 out of 5 stars on this episode, I cannot wait for the next one.

Blog you later, awesome nerds.

Recap: After piecing together the clues as to where her mother hid the Mortal Cup, Clary, Jace, Alec and Isabelle are on the clock to find its hiding place before anyone else.

Excerpt: Across the Hall - Kylie Walker

Excerpt:
He told Ethan about his arrest. He’d come to terms with it and now he just wanted to put it in the past. He knew that he was lucky. Being wealthy and a successful businessman had helped him. If not for his high power attorney he would have just been any guy with a public defender and he may have ended up behind bars for a lot longer…and with a big ass ankle monitor on his leg right now. He stopped at the fireplace and looked at the photos of Ethan, his dead parents and his sister. He didn’t want to talk about his time in prison any longer. In an effort to give his friend a hard time and have some fun, he grinned and turned towards Ethan and said,
“Your sister is fucking hot. When did you say she’d be home?”
Ethan laughed too but then as serious as he’d ever said anything in his life he said, “There are millions of women in New York City. Stay away from my sister bud.”
“Or…?” he laughed again.
“You don’t want to find out.” Ethan didn’t sound like he was joking. Jude wasn’t afraid of him, but he wasn’t interested in screwing up their friendship either. “You want another beer?” Ethan’s subtle change of subject was not lost on Jude. He smiled and finished what was left in his beer bottle.
“I better not. I’d better go check on the movers. You have some nice art,” Jude was looking at the modern pieces hanging on the walls. There were some really nice sculptures near the fireplace as well.
“Thanks. I can’t really take credit for most of it. Jillian’s the one with the eye for art.”
The devil on his shoulder made him say, “Hmm…she’s sounding more and more interesting…”
“Jude…” the tone of Ethan’s voice told him he wasn’t kidding this time.
“Chill out man. I’m kidding. I’m just giving you a hard time.”
Ethan raised an eyebrow at him but he let it go. “So what are your plans after you get off house arrest?”
“I’ll go back to running my company at the helm instead of by phone or the prison visiting room. I’m seriously considering staying here in New York though. I have some good, strong people in the international divisions and I’d prefer to leave those to them and stay home for a while.”
Jude inherited his father’s business when he was twenty-two after his father died of a massive heart attack. It was a lot of responsibility for such a young man, but Jude was bright and he’d been exposed to his father’s business his entire life. With the direction of a board of directors who were faithful to the family and his mother who was brilliant in her own right, and a mentor that he couldn’t have done without, he’d done very well in the long run. He looked at the clock now and said, “I really should get back over there and make sure the place is getting set up right. It was great seeing you man. Maybe we can hang out again sometime.”
“Absolutely,” Ethan told him. He stood up and they hugged again before he left and went back to his own place. It was good to know Ethan would be across the hall…he was also looking forward to finally meeting his sister.

First Dance with You - Clarissa Wild

Published Date: November 27, 2013
Genre: Romance
Synopsis: Virgin Emily is just starting her new life as a college girl and gets invited to a masquerade by her new roommate. At the party, a sexy, masked man asks her to dance, but what she doesn’t know is that this one dance will change her life forever. Because when the waltz is over, the night just begins…

To be honest, I am in absolute love with the short story that Clarissa brought to my email. Why? It was simple, thrilling, and sexy. It didn't beat around the bush and it was the absolute cutest love story. I have no words especially since even the synopsis takes your breath away. It gets you excited because you're just like, what? What happens?! Give me more because I need more Emily and this mysterious man.

I guess you're just going to have to get this book to fall in love with a short story... PSST... This one is the one I'm talking about. ;) Because I rate this a solid 3.6 out of 5 stars.

So, I guess, blog you later, awesome book nerds?

ARC: Soulless - Sarah J. Pepper (Once Wicked #1)

Release Date: February 23, 2016
Genre: Fantasy Romance
Synopsis: Our love is imperfect in the most perfect way. It is love done our way. Raw. Unconventional. Sexy as hell. Most importantly, it is honest to the core, or so I think. One little, white lie shouldn't do so much damage. Yet, it changes me forever.
The worst part is that Declan whispered that sweet nothing out of protection. My safety is on the forefront of his mind, especially since there are others who’d hurt me simply to get at him. I never think that he would be the one to cut me so deeply. And it all starts with that first prick—the night he saved my life.

***

His perilous stare deepened as his grip fastened around my waist. The maniacal thoughts passing over his eyes confirmed that I wasn’t the only one who wanted all the space between us eliminated.

could hardly breathe when his gaze fell to my lips. It left me speechless. It was the very way a passing glance could leave you without words. But Declan didn’t just take a glimpse. No, he unapologetically looked me over. He loved me, but didn’t say them in so many words. Yet, I heard them all the same. I heard them with each moan that echoed in the air. I felt them as he held me gently in his arms. Even if I didn’t feel the desire radiating off of him in a fury of passion, he bore that intensity in his gaze. The world around us melted away until there was on me and him.

My heart was stolen by this book. I am a huge sucker for fairy tales and this book puts a sick twist on them. Needless to say, I loved it even further. Declan and Piper are definitely on my favorite book couples list.

They steal each other's love and souls and breath.

I never was a fan of these particular characters in the original fairy tales but Sarah J. Pepper does a fantastic job at weaving this storyline together to make you love them. I want to tell you their names so bad but I promised no spoilers.

There's passion. There's action. There's romance. There's desire. It seems overwhelming but it was pieced together in a sense where you actually cannot seem to get enough.

But I am going to say that you need to read this book. It is beautifully written and I definitely fell in love with Declan. There is the hint of creepy in a messed up fairytale. Don't the evil deserve love too?

With a rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars, I want to invite you all to read this book.

Excerpt:
“Firecracker, does this feel like I don’t desire you?” Marshall grinds his groin into my ass, letting me feel his thickness. The resistance I have been putting up falls away like a thin layer of clothing. Heat settles in the pit of my stomach and a dull ache forms between my thighs.“I’ve wanted you every day since I saw you almost ten years ago, Rachel,” Marshall whispers into my neck as he nips along the column making me shudder. “I’ve never stopped wanting you,” he continues, his voice coming out gruff due to my grinding down on his thick, pulsing length. “I was just waiting on you to realize you wanted me too, and to stop being so fucking difficult.” “I’m sorry,” I apologize, because I really am. So caught up in my insecurities and fear, that I almost ruined the best thing to ever happen to me. “You were never in danger of losing me, Rae,” he lets me know while he holds my face in his hands. “’Til death, baby. Only death will keep us apart; and even then…” My lips crash to his with nothing more to say between us. Our bodies long to communicate in the best way we know how. Our bodies long to connect. My skin buzzes with heightened arousal as our tongues touch, an electric current zapping through me. “If you leave me, this earth, I will find you, Rachel,” he threatens. “You can’t leave me. Whatever happens, tell me we’ll face it together; that we’ll get through it together.” How can I deny him that? He wants to partake of my joy and my sorrow. He wants to be there with me through whatever life throws at us and here I am: wanting to bail. “If you leave me, I will rampage through Hell to drag you back to me,” he asserts and I can’t help but chuckle lightly. “You assume I’d go to Hell?” I question. “Hell is reserved for evil people, I hear,” he states. “And evil would be leaving me on this Earth to let other women have their ways with me.” That causes me pause. Looking over my shoulder, I pin him with serious eyes as I tell him, “If I die and that happens, know that you will have no peace. I will haunt you until you off yourself.” Marshall only smiles against my neck before saying, “Ditto.”

ARC: His Confession - S. Valentine (Black Door #1)

Published Date: February 16, 2016
Genre: Erotica
Synopsis: When Gabriella Woods finds matches from a gentlemen’s club in her fiancé’s pocket, her suspicions require a search for answers.
At the club, she realizes it’s not her fiancé’s fidelity that can’t be trusted...
It’s her own.
Darion Milano is daring, intriguing, and unpredictable…
Unable to get him out of her head—and against Darion’s explicit warning—Gabi begins a torrid affair. No longer fighting the urge to enter the depth of his dark and mysterious lifestyle, she indulges in his most intimate desires.
They become the most exciting, wild, infatuated couple everybody knows.
Until his confession changes everything…
Her heart is telling her to stay.
Her instinct is telling her to run.
She can never match his outrageous ex-wife and become the fun, fearless woman he craves…
Or can she?

Discover a world of sex, secrets, and seduction.

This book had me on my toes the entire time. I absolutely liked the fresh new take on how romance truly develops. With Valentine's Day come and gone, you start to get annoyed of the love and romance... Who am I kidding?

That's not true.

Darion and Gabi's passion for each other is overwhelming to say the least. Gabriella was an unhappy woman to be married to a workaholic.  That is one thing that I can understand because the man wasn't even an workaholic. He was a holic but in a different sense. Sigh... Poor Gabi...

But as the story unfolds even further, we delve deeper into the inner workings of both Darion and Gabi. What makes them love. What makes them tick. What makes them who they are.

To me, it wasn't even Gabi that made me turn the pages. It was because I wanted more and more of Darion Milano and his devilish ways. He is a beautiful man and how could I deny him my love? He was definitely put on my book boyfriends list and after you read this book, you will too. His predatory movements. His witty humor. His beautiful body. I just couldn't get enough.

The words leapt off the pages and I think that this was a fantastic debut for Sophia Valentine. I cannot wait to continue the trilogy further and see what other books she will bring to her audience. A solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Thirteen; the day I lost my nuts.

Shadowhunters: "Of Men and Angels" (Ep. 6)

Release Date: February 16, 2016
Genre: Young Adult

"She took her oath as a Shadowhunter seriously." Well first off, I would hope so. Jocelyn got mixed up with the wrong man but for the right reasons.

This entire episode was practically the whole backstory on Jocelyn, Luke, and Valentine. It wasn't as thrilling as the previous episodes but I liked the idea of getting to know the characters a little better.

What made it a little better was the fact that we had more of the story of Alec and Magnus. Swoooooon.
"You've unlocked something in me." (Magnus Bane).
They are probably the cutest couple in the story other than Jocelyn and Luke.

As Clary and Luke come together once again in the dire circumstances, you automatically have to give Clary some credit for trying to survive. But against the wrong people.
Clues were given but memories were forgotten.
Curiosity killed the cat. What are you going to do? It killed something inside of Clary as the truth comes to light.

The truth comes to light in this episode and it was an episode that you couldn't miss.

We meet the rest of the Lightwoods family such as little Max Lightwood. The cutest of them all. But something in this episode changes Isabelle. But is it for the better?

Rating is a solid 4.3 out of 5 stars.

Recap: With Luke in dire need of help, Jace, Clary and Simon take him to Magnus’ lair in hopes of saving his life. Once there, the story of how Valentine came to be evil, and Jocelyn and Luke’s past is revealed to Clary in hopes of triggering her memory of what happened to The Mortal Cup.
Meanwhile, Isabelle and Alec are tasked to restore their family name in the eyes of The Clave.

Blitz: Complete - Ghiselle St. James (Tainted Love Novella)

Published Date: February 4, 2016
Genre: Romance
Synopsis: Seven years.
He's waited seven long years for his Firecracker to come back to him, but nothing comes easily, since complications threaten to rip them apart. Again.
Not if he can help it.
He will not rest until she is with him again, but Rachel has to fight - for herself and for him, too.
Is their story destined to be one complication after another? Or, after seven years apart, can their love come full circle?
Follow Marshall and Rachel as their love becomes...Complete.

After seven years. Has fate finally given the the chance for Rachel to come back to him? With this book, I think you will fall in love with the idea of love even further. Personally, I don't believe in love but when it comes to these books, it makes me want to believe that it is real. You just have no choice. It has been seven years in waiting to be back in the arms of their loved ones again.

In the previous novella, we delve into further why they have stayed away from each other. They drove each other away with their own actions. Sadly. You want to smack Rachel. But you also want to sock Marshall. There's no winning in the situation.

I definitely had a love-hate relationship with the characters but this book shows that life is full of complications that will always rip people destined to be together apart from each other. No words.

In this book, you will find psychotic women, love-sick men, secrets, and more within the pages of the book. So I guess, you will have to 1-click the book to see where you find yourself with the characters. With the rating of 3.7 out of 5 stars, you can meet Marshall and Rachel and continue their story.

Complicated - Ghiselle St. James (Tainted Love #2.5)

Published Date: April 25, 2015
Genre: Romance
Synopsis: Seven years ago, a secret had torn them apart, but their love always pulled them back together. Things have taken a turn for the worse, and once again, circumstances have brought them together. Can Rachel continue to hide behind her past, or will she stop running from the one man she would love forever? Can Marshall get his girl back, or will it always be a complicated cycle of make ups and break ups?

When Ghiselle came into contact with me about the books, I knew that after reading the synopsis, I just had to get my hands on it. Please excuse my grabby hands while I start reading one book after another.

With this series, the story line did rapidly move forward and it was hard to keep up with every single detail but Marshall and Rachel's relationship wasn't the ideal one. That's for sure. As you further their story, you want to smack Rachel. Several times if I may add.

I just cannot deal with the ongoing cycle between the two and I just don't understand. Well, I guess that is why the book is called Complicated. However, I cannot say that I didn't like the book. It kept me well on my toes and I think the main reason I was confused was because I was thrown right in the middle of their relationship. I didn't get the full feel.

Marshall, an attractive man that is obviously very old compared to an underage girl. But this is the romance that you like to call taboo. Something that you don't want to talk about because it's a hush hush situation. You don't really expect it to happen and boom, it hits you in the face.

The way the book ended made me immediately open up the next one and you just have to continue to read the series. Or the novellas. Whichever you'd like to say this book is. Definitely a short read so if you're looking for a thrilling, short taboo romance, this is the read for you. A simple but demurring 3.9 stars out of 5.

Blood & Secrets - Helen Bright (Night Movers Vampires #2)

Published Date: August 31, 2015
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Synopsis: Keeley Saunders has finally got her life together, and the future looks rosy for the lonely single parent for a change. She has a new job as P.A to the Russian billionaire vampire, Gregor Antonov, her daughter, Daisy is about to start full time school, her dad is finally getting help with his alcohol addiction, and she’s found love with the man/vampire of her dreams.
But people are keeping secrets which is rarely a good thing.
Just when things couldn’t get any better for Keeley, she is the victim of a brutal attack that changes her life forever.
Will Keeley ever get a chance at real happiness again? And are all secrets bad?

When I first started the Night Movers Vampires series from Helen Bright, I was pretty unsure of the whole plot line. Maybe it was because the first book made my head hurt with the amount of characters point of views in it. From what I understood was that the first book was history and it makes sense because history was not my strongest pursuit nor will it ever be.

But when I started the second book to the series, I gobbled it right up. It was impossibly perfect and I can add Helen Bright to one of my favorite self-published authors. Though, there are some quirks that I would love to point out... Sigh.

Keeley is someone that you just enjoy having a conversation with especially with her daughter, Daisy.  They bring joy to everyone and you can appreciate Keeley for the strong woman aspect of everything. From the beginning of the book, you have to roll your eyes that Keeley is awfully popular with the men. From Gregor to Josh, they are chummy with her.

But the only man for Keeley is... DRUMROLL PLEASE. (Sorry, you'll have to 1-Click this book). Don't hate me.

It's one of the books that will make your heart beat fast as the book moves forward. Maybe it is because Helen writes the books in first person for each character and doesn't overwhelm you in this book, you just have to put yourself in the shoes of the characters.

If you read book 1, you'll definitely want to continue the series. I rate this a solid 4.2 out of 5 stars.

Genre: Romance
Synopsis: With a famous NHL player for a step-brother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation many hockey stars come with. She’s smart enough to steer clear of those hot, well-built boys with unparalleled stamina. That is until she meets the legendary team captain—Alex Waters.

Violet isn’t interested in his pretty, beat-up face, or his rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s previous misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes more than just a hot body with a face to match.

In what can only be considered a complete lapse in judgment, Violet finds out just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. But what starts out as a one-night stand, quickly turns into something more. Post-night of orgasmic magic, Alex starts to call, and text, and e-mail and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts, making him difficult to ignore, and even more difficult not to like.

The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

"Our relationship isn't magically perfect after Alex apologizes and we exchange I love you's. We're figuring things out and having fun while we're doing it--and each other." I laughed a bit too much at this statement. Violet is very blunt with so she talks and yes, she is a dirty talker so prepare yourselves for her. Most people would avoid dirty talkers especially if it's not in the bed. But she is one tough mother ducker. Yeah. You read that right.

This brings me to another point. Not all relationships are perfect. They never will be. Underlying, there are problems surfacing but you won't be able to tell from the outside. But if you can recognize it from the inside, you have a chance at fixing it. Relationships aren't magically perfect. That's a utopia. No such thing.

I was laughing throughout this entire book right from the moment Alex and Violet met each other because they were polar opposites but can you blame them? Opposites attract and boy, were the sparks flying everywhere as soon as their eyes melted right into each other.

"His love is the best gift, filling my heart, giving breath to a future I can't wait to start living. 'My favorite thing in the world is here'
'Me?'
'You'"

My heart started beating faster at this moment in the book. I sighed and yes, clutched my kindle to my chest. Wouldn't you want someone to say that to you? Sigh.  Are you kidding me Alex Waters? You make it impossible for real relationships to amount to the stuff that you say and do for Violet for real men. Sigh. Book boyfriend. That's for sure. My eyes are on you and I cannot wait for PUCKED Up to see where the rest of the gang develops.

"I'm so glad you fought for me. You're the best chance I've taken."

Oh swoooooooon. Stop it. Stop it. Impossible goals. I rate this a solid 4 out of 5 stars. PUCKED Up to come soon.

ARC: Hard to Handle - RC Boldt (Teach Me #2)

Published Date: February 2, 2016
Genre: Romance
Synopsis: RC Boldt’s Teach Me series gives us a closer look at just how thin the line is between love and hate…

Fifth grade social studies teacher, Laney Kavanaugh, is no stranger to being left behind – her father taught her that at a young age. That’s why she always has her eyes wide open when it comes to men. She’s determined she will never again be the one left behind. She doesn’t let sex blur what they’re really doing; it’s always just sex.

Until Zach.

Zachariah Mayson, fifth grade writing and English teacher, has been the bane of Laney’s existence from the moment they met at their shared elementary school. She can’t stand him. He gets under her skin like no other and is always utterly obnoxious in his attempts –and successes–in getting a rise out of her.

Until the wedding.

The night of their friends’ wedding, Laney gives in to a moment of melancholy, knowing she’ll never be able to let her guard down enough to let a guy close, let alone someday get married. She and Zach end up having the hottest night she’d ever experienced, showing her another side of him, a softer, sweeter one he’d hidden from her until now. Because now, he hoped she was finally ready to “see” him.

But when you’ve always guarded yourself against falling in love, can you let go of the past in order to embrace the future?

When I first met Laney in the first of the Teach Me series, I just fell in love with her total cupid attitude except when it comes her animosity towards Zach. Actually, when it came towards her animosity towards men in general. What are you going to do?

Laney broke my heart and as the story progressed, you just kind of had to understand the reason why she alienated all men from her life. However, the only person, thought the vain of her existence, Zachariah Mayson, has wormed his way into her heart.

The question is will she be able to survive what is thrown at her.

This book was a page-turner and unable to put the book down. Now that i started school again, I read during class and everything. But it was a beautiful love story. Not one of those instal-love things but with this, there is history and much love within the books.

You can add Zachariah Mayson onto my book boyfriends list, right next to Callum Mackenzie. Jesus. One of these days, I will need to just list all of my favorite book friends into a list.

I definitely wanted to slap the shite out of characters especially since they act all high and mighty because they are nouveux riche. You feel? The only actual older adult that I loved was Momma K. She's a strong fighter and the definition of an independent woman.

However, since the story focuses on Laney and Zach, you're kind of forced into rooting for them and maybe tossing your kindle or paperback everywhere. Yeah... Just imagine me. I rate this a great 4.3 out of 5 stars.
