Lay Me Down - Erin Kellison (Reveler #2)

Published Date: May 12, 2014
Genre: Fantasy/Paranormal
Synopsis: Able to navigate sleep’s vast dreamwaters, wild child Maisie Lane makes easy money as a courier delivering packages from one dream to another. So what if her employers are on the shadier side of the law? Her sister thinks she’s living for the pleasure of the moment. Pleasure is involved—why shouldn’t it be?—but every step Maisie takes is part of a careful plan. That is, until she crosses into a dream so evil, she has no choice but to run.

Special Agent Steve Coll is tasked to recruit Maisie for Chimera, the organization that polices shared dreams. At first he’s taken with her funny and carefree spirit, then brought to his knees by her tough and passionate soul. Touching her is forbidden ecstasy, but Steve can’t resist breaking the rules with Maisie. A darkness is gathering, evil preparing to strike, and only Maisie stands between it and innocent lives. No matter what happens, Steve won’t let her stand alone—he’ll die before he leaves her side.

This here is the second installment in the Reveler series and well, I enjoyed it enough because of Maisie's snarky attitude towards everything and everyone. Kind of a big 'F*** YOU' to the world. But I think I really liked her because of the fact that she was talented, smart, funny, and snarky. You just kind of have to fall in love with her.

Special Agent Steve Coll didn't expect to run head on with some wild child with pink hair and rebel attitude. She is completely talented. He never dreams. He made it into the dream world by entering through someone else. He thinks that he is the only one in the situation until he is assigned to protect Maisie.

Maisie is one of the most trouble-making characters that I have gotten to know. I mean, is it for attention? Is it because she's just crazy? You just can't tell with her. But as the story went on, you just kind of had to fall in love with her.

Steve and Maisie are one of my favorite book couples all around. I know you would love them as well.  I highly recommend the Reveler series by far and Erin Kellison keeps on winning some points to put her on my favorite author's list.

I rate this book a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Blog you later, awesome book nerds.
