Sweet Peril - Wendy Higgins (The Sweet Trilogy #2)

Published Date: April 30, 2013
Genre: Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Romance/Young Adult

Synopsis: Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

One of the funniest chapters that I have read in this book was where Kope and Anna were 'wrestling' in a dark parking lot. I cannot believe I started laughing out loud because it was corny and cheesy but I loved it nonetheless.

Oh and that shocking revelation of Kope and his sins. Oh... Oh... LAWLS. This just made me 10 times more attractive and I do not know why. Maybe it is because he pushes against his sins and refuses to conduct them.

My thoughts on this book are that it is fantastic and my eyes cannot drink it up fast enough. I don't know if you awesome book nerds watch The Vampire Diaries but Kaidan reminds me of Klaus and Anna reminds me of Caroline. Strangely...

When Kaidan was treating Anna like she was the plague, I was most definitely rooting for Kope and Anna because of his affection for her. But then, the plot twist, or I should say several were revealed and it had you breathless.

Don't get me wrong, Kope and Anna's kiss was described amazingly as well as their connection.

Now Anna was trying to fill the empty void in her life without Kaidan with Kope and I hated that fact because Kope seemed like a good guy. But I love her nonetheless because she is badass as hell but still has feelings especially when it comes to Kaidan.

I rate this book a solid 5 out of 5 stars and I really do wish that I could give it more because I fall in love with the series, more and more every time.

Blog you later, awesome book nerds and don't miss out on the chance to pre-order Forever with You (Sep 29, 2015) on Amazon or at Barnes and Noble and get an exclusive never-before-seen Cam and Avery scene by Jennifer L.
