Review: We left off on a cliffhanger and S. Valentine knew how to deliver that.

An evil little cliffhanger.

Now that we have the basic information on who Gabriella Woods and Darion Milano are, I bet you are falling in love even more with the thought. As soon as the early reviews of how kinky Darion Milano's blood really ran, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

By the end, I was fanning myself with how hot and sexy Her Confession leaves us.

I am such a protagonist promoter and very rarely will I enjoy the antagonist in the story. In Her Confession I fell in love with Gabi even more. We all look for book boyfriends (Don't you dare lie to me) but I kept anticipating on what GABI was going to do next. Not the Darion Milano. No matter how daring and sexy and tempting as he may be.

Don't worry: There's another cliffhanger. How could S. Valentine not deliver that to us? She wants us to be tortured. Is she as bad as Darion Milano? ;)

Time to go put this book on your to be read this book and trust me, you will want to spare at least a good 6 hours of your day for this because you will not be able to put this book down. I mean, I couldn't. Now this is a 5 out of 5 stars.

Spy Girl - Jillian Todd (Spy Girl #1)

Published Date: April 12, 2016
Genre: Romance
Synopsis: Huntley Von Allister’s first mission sounded easy enough:
Get close to the hottest Prince on the planet.
Keep him safe.
Uncover the plot to assassinate him.
Kill the bad guys.
And don’t blow her cover.

She is well-trained and ready for anything . . . or so she thought.

Prince Lorenzo is called the Playboy Prince for a reason, and his brand of panty-melting charm is adding a whole new sexy level of complication. Especially considering she has way too much chemistry with his friend and Olympic athlete, Daniel Spear.

Now the biggest challenge of her mission?

Protecting her heart.
And at what cost?

I don't know whether to say that I liked the book or not. I mean, I obviously liked it well enough to give it a 4.3 out of 5 but personally, the whole concept was skewed in my head. She was supposed to fall in love with the most handsome guy on the planet. But then best friend? Like what the hell just happened to everything?

The book trailer definitely made the book look better than it was so I suppose Jillian had that going for her. But I guess that I really liked the whole James Bond feel to the book and because this was my first time reading Jillian, I am surprised that I wasn't disappointed in the book. (I hardly venture out from my known authors).

Spy Girl will honestly cut your heart out and serve it to you on a silver platter. Because hey, she's the whole concept of an ice queen until boys melt her heart away.

They told me about Ethan.
He’s no good.
He only knew darkness.

Only a monster can turn me into one. I’ve bled and screamed. I’ve been the victim too long. The scars that are visible only conceal the more painful ones on the soul. If he could help me save myself and learn to fight again, then he can have whatever he wants from me. My body. My soul. My heart. Later, he’ll realize that I had the better end of the bargain.

SNEAK A PEEK AT SCARRED:
“It’s a little late for you to be working out still, River. Rest periods are for exactly that, rest.”
She slowed the treadmill to a walk and stepped to the side. Never turning around to face me, she took a swig from her water bottle and meticulously closed the cap.
“I don’t need rest. It’s been six months, Ethan, and I know that eventually Derrick is going to find me. I don’t have the luxury of resting.”
“Pantera,” I corrected her.
She turned then, watching me with a question in her eyes. “Why do they call you that?”
“Because it’s my name, and it’s the one you will use.”
“Ethan Kendall is your name, and I’ve been calling you that the whole time,” she said. She had fire, I’d give her that. But this was my world, my rules. Ethan was a man I wasn’t. A figment of a cracked memory that didn’t mean shit anymore.
“Do you know what Pantera means?” I asked her. My glide toward her was slow. I paused at random intervals, stalking her, pushing her. She was prey. She fought hard not to be, but I still smelled weakness on her, on the edges of her anger. She was always afraid, terrified of what was coming, and not knowing what the result would be. It was that fear that would destroy her.
That fear drew me in.
“Panther,” she said. “I looked it up on the laptop you gave me.”
“I earned that name, River. Carved it out in skin and made my enemies regret ever trespassing against me. What have you done? What have you been made to survive that would ever make you think you could stand on even ground with me?”
I could feel the heat of her anger, but it didn’t stop me. It couldn’t. Anger wasn’t what made me the demon that I was. It was pure, cold, unfiltered hopelessness forged into a blade to cut my way through life.
“You’ve never asked what I went through before,” she said.
I shook my head. “Because it doesn’t matter. I don’t care.”
“You cared enough to take me on after you saw me in the hospital,” she returned.
“That’s where you’re wrong, River. So wrong. I enjoy playing with my food. Your every breath marks you as a victim. Every time you freeze when Pavel attacks you from behind, I know you will fail. And every second you look at me with those fearful eyes, I know that whatever Derrick did, he did because you let him.”
She roared her anger, and I laughed. Even as she leapt at me, swinging her right fist hard, I enjoyed her anger. She was smart, sweeping her left leg to take me down, but I twisted my body into her so we were chest to chest. I sensed the shift in her stance and blocked her knee angled for my crotch and wrapped my arm around her neck.
“You can’t beat me, River. You never could.”
Two seconds. That was all it took to take her to the ground. And then she was under me, punching, twisting, and fighting to get away. I let her do nothing. I splayed out above her, pushing her into the mat beneath us. Then I gripped one wrist and planted it above her head. She fought harder, raking her nails down the side of my neck before I could grab that wrist too.
“You have claws, detenysh, but not like mine.”
I bit down on the soft spot of her neck, where it met her shoulder. Her pulse throbbed against my tongue. She screamed, but I didn’t clamp down. I didn’t need to draw blood or hurt her to prove my point. But, somehow, I lost what I had been trying to convey. Between her scent, filled with lavender, and the feel of her body against mine, I noticed her as a man would.
Her breasts were smashed against my chest, but I could feel their fullness. I was cradled in her thighs, a position that went from thinking of the fighting front mount stance, to darker needs. Blood rushed through my veins and pooled into my dick, short circuiting any rational thought.
I wanted her.
I eased my teeth off her and licked over the abused flesh. She froze, a casualty to my strength, my desire, and I couldn’t stop. I traced my way over her jaw and nipped her chin. Her small gasp was all the permission I needed to take her mouth with mine.
Flavor blasted over my taste buds. How long had it been since I kissed a woman? Since I felt one give under my hands? Of all the ones I’d known, I couldn’t place her taste. It was wild and free, and tinted with tears. I knew that place.
Between youth and cynical maturation brought on by fear.
I’d been there.
She was at a precipice she didn’t even realize. She wanted me to make her a killer and all I could think about was taking her body with mine. How fucked up was I that I wouldn’t stop?
I wanted to punish her for making me want something that shouldn’t exist in my life any more. My life was an abyss and she wouldn’t survive it. I hated her for wanting to make me try.

Author Bio:
So I think this is the part where I'm supposed to say something super cool, win you over, and make you my life-long superfan...OR wait, is that how I am about my anime collection?
Probably.
Basically, I'm an author, blogger, geek, and villain lover (Joker IS MINE!). There shouldn't be any surprise then that I tend to love my heroes a bit broken, all messed up, and in need of someone who understands them just the way they are.
Ha, my heroines are right there with them. You see, love is nice, it's sweet. It can be all rainbows and glowing stars. And then it can be dark, twisted, hurtful, and feel so good you have to scream about it. So I write like that. From one side of the spectrum to the other, because that's real. That's life. And that's what we crave--delving into a fantasy world or not.

The sun shone overhead, the temperature neared ninety, and the humidity was hair-curlingly high on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, making it hard to believe a hurricane was coming soon. Ella Shaw glanced up at the blue sky, knowing it wouldn't remain pristine for long.
The calm before the storm.
She pulled her hair into a high ponytail and headed out of her hotel, determined to hit the local gift shop she'd caught sight of on her way to the photo shoot yesterday. She'd seen long, draping, blue-beaded necklaces from the storefront window, but she hadn't had time to stop. Her boss was a stickler for getting the right shot in the exact light, and they'd worked well past dark. By the time they'd wrapped for the day, the store had been closed.
As an assistant for Angie Crighton, a fashion designer based in Miami, Ella was responsible for the little details involved in a photo shoot. And though Angie, the photographer, and models had left the island this morning, Ella had stayed to make sure the shooting site was clean, the hotel pleased enough to allow them back another time. And if she were honest with herself, she liked the downtime after the craziness of a photo shoot, the rushing around of the crew, the bossiness of some of the models and, of course, of Angie herself.
Ella appreciated the fact that she had time to souvenir shop for her best friend, Avery Dare. How ironic was it that the two girls from very different worlds had met at all? But they had. And it was Avery who'd introduced Ella to the finer things in life, leading her to seek out a job with an haute-couture designer. Whereas Avery came from a wealthy family, Ella had been raised firmly middle class, but the two girls had bonded instantly. They'd even shared an apartment until recently, when her best friend had moved in with her rock star boyfriend, Grey Kingston.
Yep, two different worlds, even now, Ella thought wryly. But their friendship was solid. Which reminded her, she needed to let Avery know she might not make it back to the States tomorrow as planned.
When Ella had heard about the storm changing course, she'd tried to book an earlier flight out, without success. She shivered at the possibility of being stranded here alone during a hurricane and knew Avery would like the news even less. Her best friend suffered from severe anxiety, and Ella didn't like to make her worry.
She'd just buy Avery an extra gift to make up for it, she thought, walking into the shop. She immediately headed to the turquoise-blue beads she'd seen through the window. The shopkeeper claimed they were Larimar beads. Even if they were fake, the beads, popular in the Caribbean, were said to have healing powers. Ella purchased two dozen, a mix of bracelets and necklaces, so she could share with the children at the cancer treatment center where she and Avery volunteered.
Avery had been nine, Ella ten years old when they'd met at a Miami hospital, both donating bone marrow, both there at the behest of a parent. Neither of them really understanding what was happening. All Ella had known was that she was doing a favor for her father, helping the stepmother Ella didn't like all that much to begin with. Even at a young age, Ella had been a good judge of character, a better one than her father, obviously, because shortly after Janice had gotten well, she'd left Ella's dad. And both her father and Ella's life had gone downhill from there. Ella shook off the thoughts of her past before she could go deeper and darker, and focused on the pretty jewelry.
She spent some time choosing a thick turquoise bracelet for Avery and a similar one for herself before paying for everything and waiting for the shopkeeper to wrap things up.
Bag in hand, she started back to the hotel, cutting through side streets and looking into the windows of the stores, soaking up the culture along the cobblestone streets before heading back to Miami tomorrow. At least, she still hoped she'd be home. Knowing she couldn't change the outcome, she pushed her worrisome thoughts aside. She'd deal with the situation as it came.
Sweat dampened her neck from the humidity of the island, and she contemplated taking a cab back to the hotel. She reached into her straw bag and pulled out her cell phone to make the call, when, without warning, she felt a hard jerk on her purse.
"What the—?" She spun around, but whomever wanted her purse was quicker.
She barely caught a glimpse of a tall guy with dark hair as he yanked harder, nearly pulling her shoulder out of its socket before slamming her against the nearby building with his other hand.
Her head hit the concrete wall, and spots immediately appeared behind her eyes from the impact. As she struggled not to pass out, the man grabbed her purse, along with her cell phone that had fallen to the ground.
She opened her mouth to scream, but nothing came out. Her legs collapsed beneath her, and she fell to the ground, her head smacking the sidewalk before everything went black.

PUCKED Up - Helena Hunting (PUCKED #2)

Published Date: October 25, 2015
Genre: Romance
Synopsis: Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed up front teeth, and he was drafted into the NHL during his first year of college. After five years of deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies across the Continental US and parts of Canada, Miller is ready for a girlfriend. A real girlfriend of the non-bunny variety. One he takes on dates and doesn’t jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.

Miller thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike Alex Waters, center, team captain and all round nice guy—who happens to be dating his step-sister—Miller’s manwhore reputation is well earned, and not blown out of proportion by the media. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about having a girlfriend. But he’s determined to make it happen.

What he doesn’t take into account is the amount of time and effort relationships require, or that constantly letting bunnies take selfies with him to post all over social media isn’t going to win him any points in the boyfriend department. Miller learns—not so quickly—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

Sports Romance? Check
Steamy Romance? Check
Hot Hockey Players? Check
Humorous? Check

The second book will ultimately give you more insight on Buck and Sunny and their love together. I think it was definitely one of the sweetest books that Helena wrote but definitely repetitive when it comes to the storyline. But hey, I encourage you to read this book!

I read PUCKED Over first and I didn't understand how all of these characters came to be but I absolutely loved every moment going back to the beginning and getting to know every single character. But I think Buck and Sunny are absolutely the cutest things when it comes to book couples. Repetitive. But cute. Good job, Helena Hunting.

I forgot who the antagonist is in the story. Well, I didn't forget him, I just can't remember his name but hey, this book found a new way to bring sports and romance together and actually work. Buck was definitely a new kind of character for me. I'm not talking about his alpha male ego and man-whore abilities but I am talking about what makes him, him.

I want to tell you guys about the situation that Buck faces every single day but I don't want to spoil this story. So you're going to have to 1-click this book because I can swear, scout's honor that you will enjoy this new take on romance.

Bunnies drive me insane especially in this book because I gagged. A lot. Thanks Miller. Thanks a lot. For the description and everything. There are some descriptive situations but other than that, I thought this book was really sweet. So with a rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars, I encourage you to read this humorous romance.

Blog you later, awesome book nerds.

Just about everyone called Woodman "Woodman" except Gran and sometimes Cain. Gran insisted on calling him by his Christian name. Cain used "Josiah" and "Woodman" interchangeably with no real rhyme or reason that Ginger could follow.
"Rumor is you're gonna marry Josiah someday," said Gran, her sixty-something blue eyes merry. "But what do you say?"
Ginger giggled self-consciously, thinking about her grandmother's question, something clenching in her twelve-year-old heart as she thought about marrying sensible Woodman and abandoning her wild feelings for his cousin, Cain.
"I don't know," she said, feeling her forehead crease in confusion.
"Or maybe you're thinkin' you want to marry…Cain," said Gran softly.
Cain, with his jet black hair and ice blue eyes, appeared like a vision before her, and Ginger's heart thumped faster. The way he'd run off to see Mary-Louise Walker this afternoon made her brown eyes spitting green with jealousy. The way he swaggered made her breath catch. Woodman was so predictable, so safe in comparison.
Then again, Woodman hadn't exactly been predictable this afternoon, had he? He'd surprised her with the gift and even more with his words. His body had been hard and warm when he'd held her, the embrace awakening something new and foreign within her. Something she wasn't sure she wanted. Something that didn't feel safe and even scared her a little bit. She pulled her fingers away from the charm bracelet and faced her Gran.
"What do I do if I love them both?"
Her grandmother's eyes, which had been mostly teasing, flinched, and her mouth tilted down in a sympathetic frown, which made her face seem so serious and sober.
"Choose, dollbaby," said her Gran. "Someday you'll have to choose."
The same feeling that she'd had in the barn, when Cain had yelled, "Jump to the one you love the most, darlin'!" flared up within her—a fierce refusal to love one cousin more than the other, to give up one in lieu of the other.
Choose? Her memories skated back through a dozen years on McHuid's Farm that had always included Cain and Woodman. When they were little children, they played together, swimming buck naked in the creek and racing over the green hills and pastures in impromptu games of tag. As the boys grew up, they started working with Cain's daddy, Klaus, who was her father's right-hand man, mucking out the stables and grooming the horses. She'd run down to the barn every day after her lessons to see them, working right along beside them until they were all covered in hay, dust and barn grime.
Though the Wolframs weren't generally included in the McHuid's active social life, the Woodmans were, which meant that in addition to seeing Cain and Woodman on the farm, she also saw Woodman at every holiday and birthday party…and they always managed to slip out unseen with some smuggled sweets for Cain.
They were the Three Musketeers of McHuid's Farm and Ginger knew both boys as well as she knew herself—Cain's smirking, hot-headed, impulsive ways, and Woodman's level-headed patience, caution and kindness. Regardless of their differences, she also knew that as the only children of twin sisters, Cain and Woodman were much closer than most cousins. Genetically speaking, they were half-brothers, and while they surely liked to tease and torture each other, they wouldn't hesitate to jump into front of a train to save the other's skin either.
In Ginger's mind, she envisioned them like two halves of the same coin that she held carefully in the palm of her hand.
She loved them both desperately.
Choose?
No, her heart protested. Impossible.
"What if I can't?" she whispered, leaning back and resting her head on her grandmother's comforting shoulder.
"Then you'll lose them both," said her grandmother softly.
Ginger's shoulders fell, relaxing in surrender as she closed her eyes against the burn of tears.
"But don't let's think about that now, dollbaby," said Gran, leaning her head upon her granddaughter's, the constant tremble of her unpredictable body almost soothing to Ginger as they rocked side by side in the twilight. "You're just twelve today. You've got your whole life ahead of you."

During a lull in the conversation, he leaned forward and lowered his voice. "There's a play party next weekend."
She froze and he could see her process his words and their meaning before she relaxed. "Yes."
"Good job, Sasha. You did what I told you to do earlier, didn't you?" She'd remembered he wouldn't touch her without telling her where and how.
"Yes, Sir."
He nodded. "A fast learner. I like that. I would like for you to attend the party with me."
He paused, gauging her reaction. Her cheeks were flushed with excitement. "I would like that," she said.
"Since the party will be held at Master Greene's house and I don't know if he has granite countertops, I won't have you wear the black lingerie."
Her voice was calm when she asked, "What will you have me wear, Sir?"
"I'll have it sent to you this week." Let her think about it for a while.
"I look forward to it."
"We won't formally participate in any scenes, but you will serve as my submissive."
Her lips parted and she nodded. "Yes, Sir."
"Master Greene has asked me if he can apologize for Peter's actions." He watched her carefully, looking for any hint of panic.
"Will Peter be there?" she asked quietly.
"No, in fact I understand that as a result of the phone call, there's to be a meeting to determine if he should be allowed to remain in the group."
Her eyes widened in shock. She hadn't heard that. He was surprised Julie hadn't told her, but then again, Daniel might not have told Julie.
She straightened her shoulders. "In that case, I'm good with Master Greene apologizing."
"That's what I told him, but I also said I wanted to check with you
She nodded, but then her gaze grew distant and she looked over his shoulder.
"Everything okay?" he asked. "Are you having second thoughts?"
She slowly returned her focus to him. "No, I'm just thinking about Peter. Now that I can think about him and not risk an episode, I often find myself wondering if I missed something, some sign."
"I understand why you'd do that, but your time would be better spent asking yourself what qualities you're looking for in a Dom." He reached into his pocket and took a twenty dollar bill out. "Do you know how they train people to recognize counterfeit money?"
Her forehead wrinkled and she frowned in puzzlement. "Sir?"
He passed her the twenty. "They don't give them the counterfeit bills to study. They only touch and hold the real thing. They become so accustomed to the real money that they immediately recognize the fraud."
"I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say, Sir."
"Focus on what you want from a Dom, how you want him to treat you. Think through the characteristics of a Dom you'd like to play with. That way when you meet someone and you get to know him, you'll recognize if he's a fraud or not."
She nodded.
"To make sure you understand, I want you to make a list of your top ten requirements from a Dom. We'll go over it next time we meet."
Her gaze grew wistful again, but she smiled and replied with a soft, "Yes, Sir."

The Gatekeeper's Sons - Eva Pohler (Gatekeeper's Saga #1)

Published Date: August 13, 2012
Genre: Young Adult
Synopsis: Fifteen-year-old Therese watches her parents die. While in a coma, she meets the twin sons of Hades—Hypnos, the god of sleep, and Thanatos, the god of death. She thinks she's manipulating a dream, not kissing the god of death and totally rocking his world.

Than makes a deal with Hades and goes as a mortal to the Upperworld to try and win Therese's heart, but not all the gods are happy. Some give her gifts. Others try to kill her.

The deal requires Therese to avenge the death of her parents. With the help of Than’s fierce and exotic sisters, the Furies, she finds herself in an arena face to face with the murderer, and only one will survive.

Dear Lordy. Help me review this book and be as nice as possible when it comes to this.

When I read Vampire Addiction from her, I definitely didn't love her at first sight. When I read this book, it started off at a good pace... Then, enter the Gatekeeper's sons. Okay, sure. They are about 18 years old. Twins. Hot or supposedly.

Therese Mills is a fifteen year old CHILD that watches her parents die in front of her. She then realizes that someone is trying to kill her. GASP. Dear God. I needed to close this book several times to keep going. That's a bad sign for me because I usually enjoy young adult novels.

She's a special little... Thing. I guess is the best way to explain her. She is a lucid dreamer. She's compassionate towards all living things. Even towards the brothers. They are both immensely attracted to her.

Than reached across the bed and wiped the tears from her face and then lay back on his side. "My brother told me I should come to Earth and have my way with as many girls as I wanted, to sow my wild oats, he said; but that's not my style. There's only one girl I'm interested in."

Therese's heart sped up. "You can't really mean me?"

Truly, this is every 15 year olds dream. Strong and handsome men loving her. What the deuce.

PREDATOR ALERT. He wants to sow his 'wild oats' in the women that he was interested in... Sex craved predator towards an underage girl. What the actual heck? Are you kidding me?

No sex at all. I mean, this is strictly young adult but the hints are there. Fantasies that run through every young adult's head. Alrighty then. The rating for this is a 1 out of 5 stars. I'm sorry, Eva Pohler. I truly do wish that I fell in love with you.

Blog you later, awesome book nerds.

Blurb

My name is Quinn Blackwood: By day, I'm a billionaire CEO. Rich. Entitled.

By night, I'm the exclusive porn star only known as Q.

Why? Because I love women. If I believed in an almighty being, I'd thank him for creating them. They're by far his most perfect creation…especially when I'm fucking one of them.

Oh, did I mention I'm an asshole? Fuck yeah. According to my shrink, I'm one twisted motherfucker. And that's just the way I like it. Until she walks into my life…

***

My name is Elyse Gilbert, nicknamed ‘Lucky’ because according to my dad, I'm the unluckiest person alive, and I'll die the same way I came into the world: naked, screaming, and dirt poor.

Yeah, my life is a twisted, seething mess. But that life changed the day I met HIM.

He made me forget the cameras.

He made me forget I was doing this for the money.

He made me forget my shame.

He made me forget everything. I was consumed by him. Only him.

But now my past has caught up with me.

Who is excited for the book to be released? Because I am! I just have a really good feeling that I am going to love this book. I don't know why but after reading the blurb, I think I might have to add Zara Cox onto my TBR Author's List.
