Cuckoo Song - Frances Hardinge

I think that the book was slightly confusing and very hard to get into in the beginning however, I give this book praise for some of the original ideas and giving me the funny goosebumps. Or elf-kisses as Jennifer L. Armentrout likes to call them. 

Just from reading the synopsis, I thought I figured out the book before I even read it but there were lots of turning points in this book. 

After reading this, I felt sorrow for Penelope Crescent because she was absolutely distraught. This book had me in a lot of emotions, mainly in tears from laughing. However, this book was definitely a creepy thriller. 

I definitely want to create a, well several lists about some of my favorite books within certain categories such as romance or thrillers.

When Triss wakes up after an accident, she knows that something is very wrong. She is insatiably hungry; her sister seems scared of her and her parents whisper behind closed doors. She looks through her diary to try to remember, but the pages have been ripped out.

Soon Triss discovers that what happened to her is more strange and terrible than she could ever have imagined, and that she is quite literally not herself. In a quest find the truth she must travel into the terrifying Underbelly of the city to meet a twisted architect who has dark designs on her family - before it's too late... 

I rate this this a solid 4.3 stars out of 5 because I felt the book's story creepiness in my mind. Even the cover is horrifying and maybe it is because I am afraid of dolls whether it is Barbie or Raggedy Ann dolls, even porcelain dolls. 

I truly do love this book but it was abnormally long and easily could have been divided into two or three books. However, I did love the sweet ending. It was truly a thrilling novel. 

I just started reading the City of Bones by Cassandra Clare because it was recommended to me by my little cousin and I take this very seriously just because she is not big on reading. So if she likes a book series, it was be thrilling.

I also have started to read the last book in the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld, Extras and the first book of the Beautiful Creatures series by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia. Right now, in transit is Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire and The Young Elites by Marie Lu.

Neighbors with Benefits - Marissa Clarke

Much praise for the character Michael Anderson and Mia Argaropolis. I believe that this is one of the first Entangled books that actually developed the characters and the story plot. Even though in the middle of the book of the whole 'I love you' situation, I can understand their feelings because it did develop and it was a beautiful plot. 

The characters got to know each other and Mia knew how to say no when she meant no. I can definitely relate to her in general. Being late to events, knowing when to say no, etc.

Free-spirited artist Mia Argaropolis has settled into the perfect gig—housesitting in NYC’s Upper West Side while working as an art therapist. Too bad she’s stuck living next door to a bossy control freak with a penchant for calling building security when she blasts music to drown out the noises coming through his bedroom wall. 

Post-apocalyptic dinner rolls that nearly take her kitchen with them, a douchebag ex, and a Shih Tzu with the personality of Godzilla attack Mia in one day, and her unlikely neighbor comes to the rescue. Like it was her fault. And now, somehow, they find themselves engaged? Both agree, this neighborly feud just got taken to a whole new level.

The Anderson Brothers' series so far has been pretty great. I still feel awkward about the first book of the series but I did love the second one. I cannot wait for Chance Anderson and the lucky girl that will fall for him.

I have started to read Cuckoo Song by Frances Hardinge so we will see how it goes. So far it seems like a horror/thriller novel and the only ones I tolerated or enjoyed were Goosebumps when I was little or Steven Kings novels.

Dream of You - Jennifer L. Armentrout

You know the best feeling in the world is when you figure out why the author titled the book the way it is? Yeah, I definitely felt that in this one.

I rate this book a solid 4.7 stars out of 5 because not only was it sweet as hell but it made me fall out of my seat (figuratively) several times because every page was a turner and it made you want to keep going and going and going. 

I am not sure how many times that I could use the word 'going' in a sentence before it would make you all hate me. 

There were several clippings in the book that I wanted to share with you all but I decided it would give away too much of the novel so I guess you guys will have to just read it and find the parts that made you laugh or your heart squeeze out of your chest and share them with me.
