I can officially consider myself a CoHort because Slammed is definitely a favorite book for me because it includes the strongest words that I could ever hear. Slam poetry has always stolen my heart because of the emotions that fill it as the authors perform it. 

My love for it is definitely unspeakable but Colleen Hoover made me cry within the first few chapters. The first poem that she created from the words of a minor character, my love for her went out. The pain and emotions I felt from the power of the words. 

As readers, we all know how powerful words can be to our hearts. They can make you happy, love, angry, sad, hurt, pained, and all but it was simply the magic that comes from it all. So as you can see, I did indeed love this book with all of my heart. A 5 out of 5 stars.

Review: To be honest, I don't know how I truly felt about this book... Because I didn't read the first book, I couldn't connect with the characters and the plot line had gone awry when the Dark Energy takes him places that is existential to everyone else. 

He travels in between dimensions and though his mind cannot comprehend most things, his words pour out into drawings that are vibrant and beautiful. 

So without too many spoilers, this book is good yet confusing if you don't get the full background of the story from the beginning. So it will be a 3 out of 5 stars.

ELIZABETH RODERICK grew up as a barefoot ruffian on a fruit orchard near Yakima, in the eastern part of Washington State. After weathering the grunge revolution and devolution in Olympia, Washington, Portland, Oregon and Seattle, she recently moved to a small cluster of houses amidst the vineyards of California’s Central Coast.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, and worked for many years as a paralegal and translator. She is a musician and songwriter, and has played in many bands, rocking some instruments she doesn’t even know the real names for, but mostly guitar, bass and keyboards.

To be honest, I don't know how I really felt about this book in general. 

Here we have a shallow girl who thinks very highly of herself. Which there is nothing wrong with. Other than the fact that she looked with disdain at the guy who did not fit her standards in looks. Personality wise, no problem there. It was his looks that turned her off. Why? She was a fitness editor for a magazine. 

But no matter how hard he works to get her attention, he only feels that he is wearing her out. But you can see her eventually turning her bad attitude around because Layton makes her feel guilty for being so high and almighty. Only when she sees him years later, her view on him is dramatically changed. Why? Because he is hot now. 

That is exactly how she describes him. 

Shallow and conceited overlooked, this was a cute and romantic book. Something that was long overdue for my mind. Though, I tend to focus a lot on romance... But this book is a good 3.7 out of 5 stars if I take everything into account. It definitely would have been lower if I didn't ultimately fall in love with Layton's gentle and persistent nature.

I try to hook people onto their book style/personality but I think that this is a book that everyone needs to read. Mainly because it brushes on such a sensitive topic that is not very well known to other people. It is sensitive and may trigger some alarms into the system. I teared throughout this book because it really did make me learn something about myself and others. I couldn't help my heart as it got torn into pieces throughout this book. 

Silence is often noted off as weird but to those who use it, it can be used as a shield and/or weapon. Mallory Dodge really makes your heart pound with the anxiety that she feels. Nightmares don't just end and they will continue to plague you. It is something that you will need to battle. She used her silence as her shield because she didn't want anyone or anything breaking that barrier. 

Tearful, heart-moving/melting/breaking, Jennifer L. Armentrout brings the story of a silent girl, a broken boy, and how everything can change in a single moment. 

You tore my heart to pieces all while making me fall in love with you as a writer. 

If you don't know Jen as a writer, you have too. She broaches on all topics from romance to contemporary to heart warming stories as well as hard to approach topics. Like this one. When you first meet Mallory Dodge and hear the horror stories of what she endured makes your heart break. The reunion of the characters, Mallory and Rider, your heart bursts. 

I told you that I was ready as soon as I heard Wendy Higgins say that this was heart breaking, warming, and everything. I knew that this book just had to be great. I feel as though my heart couldn't take anymore but damn, Jen. Everything just broke my heart. 

Expectations are a huge thing to hit on in this book. Why? Everyone holds these expectations for you, sometimes low, sometimes high. But you just have to break them down, which is what happened to Mallory, Rider, and all of the sub characters. 

This plot didn't necessarily hit home for me personally but it definitely could trigger some bad memories for others. I felt that this book ultimately opened my eyes to things that I didn't see before. So with a 5 out of 5 stars, I urge you all to read.

You could feel the animosity that rolled off of these two characters right from the beginning. Why the hated each other is self-explanatory due to the fact that they are complete polar opposites. Other than school sports and that they shared a brother/bestfriend, they had nothing in common. 

Though, that makes the best kind of romances. 

When you first met Layla, I am pretty sure you had hate for her. It rolled off of you into the book because of how she acted towards everything and everyone. Personally, I couldn't get rid of her fast enough. But then of course, Jordan just makes you feel real bad for thinking those thoughts in the previous two books. 

Layla is heartbreaking and Finn is heart mending. Together they will make your heart pound at the profound thought that the right person for you can change everything about you. I loved this book to say the least and i think that the best way to get over your hatred for Layla is to read this book. 

Derek is as sleazy as ever and this book will make you shiver with the disgust from him. I swear, I felt like I had to shower after reading his portion. Creepy, annoying, and straight up disgusting. Another thing that I liked about this book is that Layla and Finn are an interracial couples. With all honesty, we have lost that thought and you never really see it anymore in books. Now or before. 

But it is starting to come back. 

With that, I am going to rate this a 4.3 out of 5 stars and even if these books are standalone novels, I urge you all to read from the beginning and fall in love with Jordan Ford.

I think that I have been hiding under a rock officially. I haven't read this book until now but I devoured this book. To be Olivia, is to be the craziest and yet the most perfect thing on Earth... Let me tell you why.

She is snarky. Smart. Beautiful. Avoids men.

Well the last part didn't work out so well. 

My heart was officially broken within these pages and I loved every single moment of it. The main reason I loved this was because there so much love that countered the lies within this. I just can not handle all of the feels. Goddamn it, Tarryn!

Okay, here's the thing. I read F*CK Love first and I have no hate against it. In fact, it broadened my eyes to take a chance on authors who are well-known but not to you. The book just sounded so good and I knew that I needed to get this book. 

Oh for the love of deceit that pours from these pages. The malicious attempt to get the attention of one man. The big man on campus. Because I mean, what is a book without the hot shot alpha male on campus that is the ultimate heart breaker? NOTHING. I swear it. There is nothing.

Though Olivia felt it in every vein of her body and soul, she knew he was trouble for herself right from the start but she just got sucked in. He was the hurricane of her life. Hell, he was the hurricane of my life too. I added him onto my book boyfriends list.

"I have finally accepted that there are consequences to every action. I earned them and they are rightfully mine. There is no time to make bad decisions. Every step is precious. The definition of living is mine." ~ Olivia

Oh Tarryn and your words of wisdom. You say that you are one of the most messed up people in the head yet you give us beautiful words on paper and you ultimately voice them through your characters. I fell in love head first with this. 

The way that the book ended will officially tear you apart. Get ready to 1-Click Dirty Red and read Leah's story.

I rate this a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

At the beginning of this book, we pick up where the delicious Adam Drake and beautiful Mia Strong left off in At Any Price. He had picked up limited things and took off on an expedition where he is trying to find himself. At first, it was lighthearted and I love their love for each other.

But things hit the rocky path and well, you just kind of want to shake Adam to get his head out of his butthole and Mia out of hers. Both are stubborn. Both are strong-headed. Both like to keep their life private from each other. Which is a no good situation waiting to happen.

Needless to say, for this book, I need a lot of damn tissues near the end of this book because the truth serum kicks in for the both of them and they fight for each other but they have a weird way of showing it. 

I also wanted to just insert here, a huge thank you to the Two Unruly Girls with a Romance Book Buzz  for giving me these books as gifts so that I could finish my series. I mean, I am obsessed with their love and for Adam will do about anything for Emilia because well, he loves her. 

I wish I had a freaking guy like Adam Drake to take control for my life which is always feeling like it is spiraling out of control. His hugs would be my medicine too just as it is for Mia.

I rate this book a good 4.5 out of 5 stars because well Brenna Aubrey is just amazing and there is no stopping that. I am sad that the series is almost over but with this book in particular, you'll be in for a large plot twister that it will make your head feel like it is spinning out of control.

I was pleasantly pleased with this book for a romance/new adult book because I mean, it's hard to find a good romance without feeling disgusted at every turn. I read Fifty Shades of Grey and that is definitely getting pushed down to like number 10 of my favorite romances because this one came on the list. 

I mean, I read this in a day and I really haven't done that for romances before. Of course I had to divide it up due to school but I mean Adam Drake is a hot nerd who meets gaming, beautiful, blogger, Mia.

If I am being honest, it's almost like gaming nerd meets Fifty Shades of Grey because strangely there are some parts that remind me of Fifty Shades minus the BDSM. You feel? It's just vanilla but I mean, it's rich,  self-made millionaire meets innocent girl who turns out to be a virgin, who in turns goes against himself to save her purity and ends up only having vanilla with her. In the end of the book, he ends up hurting her so she runs away to her mom... Sound familiar? Thought so. 

Lots of twists and turns that will have you on your toes and want to refuse sleep because you want to finish this book. I will definitely want to read the next few books in the series and again, if you liked Fifty Shades or at least tolerated it, you will love the romance within the book because you're meeting a completely spunky girl that will make you laugh with her attitude.

After this, you'll want to put Adam Drake on your book boyfriends list.

I am going to rate this a good 4.5 out of 5 stars. Read this and you will understand why I feel the way I do.

Yeah, yeah, that's a long ass synopsis and long ass genre. Well here is my honest review. I think that this book has a lot of potential to become a best seller. It's not overly graphic but it could have a little more detail.

Riley, the boss's daughter, is coming home from college and very close with her father because of the fact that she lost her mother at such a young age. Brandon, a hard-worker and reaching for the best as well as being a caretaker for his sister, Bridget. By the 20th-something chapter, their sexual tension is finally relieved and now, cue the dick-ness from Brandon because obviously nothing can happen between the boss's prodigy and the boss's daughter.

This quote really bothered me because it seemed a bit contradicting for me... "I leave the truck running just in case the battery decides to die...so I make sure to lock the doors and hang onto the key..."

If I am not mistaken... I think the key is needed inside the ignition to keep it running, yes?

Anyways, that rant is over.

Well now that I finished the book, the above quote just needs to add that he took his APARTMENT key inside, not the car key. But you know, semantics. Aubrey Parker has a lot going for her with these series, definitely add in more detail. I don't know if I would consider this a New Adult book although there are some disruptions that make me want to put that in the genre.

You will constantly want to smack your head against the table because of the fact that even though Riley wants to be noticed for how smart she is not for who she is, she sure doesn't act like it by acting bratty towards Brandon. Maybe that is why he thought she was so attractive was because she put up a fight with him. As his sister said, 'You guys are just like kids'.

Honestly, I will rate this a 3.2 out of 5 stars. I can sense a lot of potential in Aubrey Parker and the Inferno Fall series so I will definitely read the next two in the series.
