I am kept in a container waiting for my death sentence to be carried out, when he comes. He is only known as ‘Predator’. No one knows who he works for, only that he leaves no one alive.
His every breath is filled with the last gasp of his dying prey.
But for some reason he doesn’t kill me.

HOLY CRAP!

I did not know this book was going to be this great. So sexy. So brilliant.

All her life, she has been hiding but from what...

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Predator because not only was it this psychological twist, it was just an amazing story.

Review: YES, YES, YES, YES! The sixth installment is finally here and I loved every single moment of it! You know those moments where you know you are just going to be in love with the book even though you haven't read it yet?

Yeah, that is definitely how i feel about all of Emma's books. Especially as a tearjerker like this. I cannot believe that she pulled this one on us but it really did make me cry throughout. No spoilers but have tissues at the ready.

Not only does she write this book in such a way that you can see her thought process like: "Boom, plot twist here. No, wait, that wasn't the plot twist... Or was it?" I swear that I could see these words just getting pulled out of Emma's mind.

So, obviously, I loved this with a huge 5 out of 5 stars.

Naturally, all Top Secret projects involve a dashingly hot guy who likes to forget to wear a shirt, a sprinkling (or several) of hold-onto-your-panties hot scenes, and a whole lotta love.

Deeper - Allyn Lesley (Deeper #1)

Published Date: April 20, 2015
Genre: Suspense
Synopsis: Misled by the one she trusted the most...
With one standard traffic stop, everything Avianna Linton knew was shattered. Suddenly, her life wasn't what she thought. Hoping for anonymity and a new life, Avi flees to the bright lights of New York City, ready to start over.

Broken by a past he can't escape...
Rising from nothing on his own, Noah Adams grasps to power with bone-crushing grip, refusing to let anyone control him. The only person to ever dare to question his authority is her. And he can't handle it.

Connected by more than their disdain for one another...
Avi can barely hide her contempt for him. Noah struggles to control himself in her presence. Their attraction is undeniable, but impractical. They make no sense. But the closer they get, the deeper they fall.

I am not going to lie, it took me a while to get into this book. Make that several chapters to the 14th because it was very slow at developing and not mention, it was confusing as well. With switching perspectives, I have no problem with but I wish I knew who I was reading before diving into that section.

Deeper wasn't awful because it does suck in near the end and you need to know what is happening next. So you just kind of had to jump into the next book, Descent.

Filled with drugs, crime, and love, I think that you will indeed fall in love with the drug overload and the girl who will make you laugh with her antics.

Allyn Lesley did the best that she could to draw me into a suspense themed novel and I think that although it isn't my favorite genre, I appreciated this book by the end with a 3.7 out of 5 stars. Read this book and judge it for yourself.

ARC: Paper Dolls - Hanna Peach

Published Date: April 24, 2016
Genre: Suspense
Synopsis: My life comes down to this. Two faces. One choice.

Salem is my twin sister. She loved me. She protected me. She forgave me, even after I failed her. I just got her back after searching for three long, lonely years.

Then there’s Clay. Sweet yet intense and nursing a dark past of his own, he’s all the redemption I don’t deserve. He wants to open me up and know the insides of my soul. I want to let him, but I’m scared he’ll run from what he finds.

But I can’t have them both.

My name is Aria. I'm 18. And today, I must choose. One of the two people I love has to die.

I am still under the spell of Paper Dolls. It was as riveting as I needed and I loved every single moment of it.  When it comes down to choosing one of my favorite genre's, it would probably be the dark and twisty kind. I like my messed up books.

Suspense is a little word compared to what you feel in this book. It drives to the point of insanity. It makes you lose sleep. It makes you fall in love. When I signed up to read this book, I was not expecting to read this book. Well, I was but damn, it worked its way into my heart.

Hannah Peach, though not well known, will make your heart shatter into a million pieces. She is that kind of an author. I mean, this book ends with a happily ever after scenario but it was so dark and suspenseful that I couldn't get enough.

Talk about my messed up mind, right?

Without giving away any spoilers because I want you all to experience this book firsthand because I rate this a 5 out of 5 stars. It blew my mind and you will be in a book funk all over again.

But I must ask you, will you be able to handle this emotional rollercoaster? Because I almost did not survive.

EXCERPT
Prologue
In moments like these, everything slowed. Salem always joked that it was life’s way of making sure you didn’t miss the turning points, the important bits. As if gravity sank heavier and heavier with the weight of the moment until the world was too heavy to turn and everyone held their breath. It certainly felt like that now. My next action, my next word, would change all of our lives.“Aria,” Clay’s deep voice reached my ears. “Whatever happens…I love you.” The usual assuredness and authority was gone. Instead, strain and hurt had crumpled up and shoved into his throat. Choose me. Save me. Love me.Before him my life had felt like a stack of old movies; frames missing or out of order, muted crackling sound, flickering and shuttering away, unloved and unseen in an old unused cinema. Then I found him. Or he found me.He created a warm shield around me where I could be safe. He coaxed away all my layers and shed all my masks and his love soaked right into my skin, right into the very soul of me. He pulled out the fossil buried inside that had been my heart and breathed life into me.How could I give up the man I loved? The one who loved me with a fierce and unwavering passion, the man who made me feel like I could defeat demons as long as he was by my side.Winking in the threads of sunlight piercing through the solemn gray clouds, seed fluff twirled about me like swirling, dancing couples. Spinning around like Salem and I used to do in our backyard, hands clasped together tightly, turning round and round, eyes to the sky, our twin voices giggling and floating into the air like dandelions. She had been my shield before Clay.“I’m nothing without you, Aria,” Salem’s voice trembled, desperation leaking into the breaths between her words. Choose me. Need me. Love me.How could I end her? I just got her back. For so long we shared almost everything, and she protected me. Her whole life had been about protecting me. Because she loved me that much. How could I turn against her, toss her away like an old broken toy?But I had to choose.I could see us now, the three of us making a chain like when I was a kid, folding pieces of colored paper into rectangles, cutting out an arm, a leg, and half a head, and unfurling my new patterns in the light to reveal a line of paper dolls. Clay, Salem and I − we were all just paper dolls in a paper chain, me in the middle, each end pulling tighter and tighter until something had to tear.Even now as I stare between Clay and Salem, trying to digest our impossible situation, Hope is still there, that terrible pixie, fluttering on my shoulder, whispering.Maybe it doesn’t have to end this way?Fuck you, Hope. Here’s the truth.Nobody is coming. No one will save us.And someone isn’t going to make it out of this forest today.“Choose,” my sister screamed. “It’s either him or me.”My fingers tightened around my gun in a reflex. This was it. I either ended her. Or destroyed Clay.I squeezed my eyelids shut for a moment, just for a moment of peace. Just for an instant I could shut out the inevitable, and in this blessed darkness I believed I could conceive a way that both could exist in my life. A way that I could choose Salem and Clay. You can’t have both. You tried.You.Can’t.Have.Both.Choose now.But how? What do you do when someone puts a gun to your head? Clay’s words came back to me, echoing as loud in my mind as if he had just spoken them. You refuse to bend. You push back. You find another way. You take that gun off him and put it back in his face. But you do not give in.Find another way…I knew what I had to do. A kind of peace settled on my skin, as delicate as gossamer, as light as silk.I opened my eyes to a world of bright light until my vision adjusted. The torn and pained faces of the two people I loved came into focus. The only two people I’ve shared air with while we slept, the same two people I’d crawl into Hell to be with, and the only two people I would die for. I forced the ghost of a smile forward. And turned the gun on myself.

**ARC from Author in exchange for an honest review**

Yes, Julie, yes! This is what I want! This is what I needed!

Julie ROCKed my world with this book. So many devious plots. [You can expect that much from her] Many twists and turns. My head is spinning but I loved every single moment of this book. You'll understand that she knows how to emotionally tug at your heart strings to make you ball your eyes out at 1 AM when you have an 8AM class and come in the classroom sniffling and puffy eyes.

It's that moment when someone asks you if you are okay and then you just ball out crying. The book is not sad. But yet I am. Why? It's over. I don't have any more RK in my life.

It is exactly what readers have hoped for. A tragically put together book that will have you craving one page after another. I absolutely loved every single moment of this and I can honestly say that if you love Julie and her writing, this is a perfect read for you.

If you don't know her, this is also a perfect start to her writing skills.

You want an alpha male? You got it. You want a messed up storyline? You got it. You want to ugly cry in multiple parts of the book? You got it. You want to feel something because you avoid emotion on a daily basis? You got it.

A perfect storyline. A perfect hero. A perfect heroine.

This book was just perfect. I can't think of any more words to describe it. So I guess you'll just have to read this book to find out more about it and fall in love with it like I did.

I'll end with this. Julie, thank you so much for giving me an ARC so that I could experience RK before anyone else. You made me fall in love with tragic stories and I always look forward to a new book of yours every single time that you announce it. Creating RK will bring joy to many people's lives and also bring emotions to the front of their minds.

Yes. I ugly cried. You will too.

Black Ice - Becca Fitzpatrick

Published Date: October 7, 2014
Genre: Young Adult
Synopsis: Danger is hard to resist in this sexy thriller from Becca Fitzpatrick, the New York Times bestselling author of the Hush, Hush saga.

Britt Pheiffer has trained to backpack the Teton Range, but she isn’t prepared when her ex-boyfriend, who still haunts her every thought, wants to join her. Before Britt can explore her feelings for Calvin, an unexpected blizzard forces her to seek shelter in a remote cabin, accepting the hospitality of its two very handsome occupants—but these men are fugitives, and they take her hostage.

Britt is forced to guide the men off the mountain, and knows she must stay alive long enough for Calvin to find her. The task is made even more complicated when Britt finds chilling evidence of a series of murders that have taken place there…and in uncovering this, she may become the killer’s next target.

But nothing is as it seems, and everyone is keeping secrets, including Mason, one of her kidnappers. His kindness is confusing Britt. Is he an enemy? Or an ally?

2015, Jan: Black Ice was one of the most creative books that I have read. Britt, a upcoming senior in high school and her best friend, Korie made plans to go backpacking {not camping}. Before Britt went to go pick up her friend, she went to fill up her gas tank where she runs into a unrolling character that she absolutely despises despite his charms and looks because of how they ended their lives together. He wanted to get back with her but since she didn't, she squirms her way out of his grasp by lying which fate plays a fatefully black knight into her hands. As the friend head out, the weather groomed alongside the bad and as much as Korie loved to compete with Britt, she was growing weary of it. Within four days of their weary struggles: inner, personal, and social, life had the sneaky hand into this play.

I love YA novels. I admit, it was hard to get past the first page but before I knew it, I was on the 163 page of it. Laughing, tearing up, with a hint of a green monster hiding on my shoulders. Fitzpatrick has astonished me with this amazing novel and I believe that everyone should give it a shot.

2016: Jan: I still find this book fairly intriguing. When I first read the book, I never really understood the misogyny within the words of the book and how they pictured every girl in the book very helpless and frail. Dependable on men. It makes me slightly annoyed.

>insert me rolling my eyes<

Maybe it is the feminist in me talking but I am just not happy about how she blatantly says that she always depended on men. Her father. Her older brother. Her ex-boyfriend. Now in the hands of a handsome stranger. Literally. That's what she says.

"...for a minute there, I’d thought I was going to have to save myself. Instead, I’d wandered into the protective care of a sexy older man."

Supposedly to be in love with the handsome stranger that kidnapped her, well why are you thinking about some crazy shite head?

“And then my thoughts went where they always did. To Calvin.”

Oh dear lord. Please help me now. I give this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars because the plot was good. The hate towards how Becca painted the women, that's what brought it down.

The Perfect Guy (Movie Review)

WARNING: Spoilers ahead!

Read at your own risk.

Seriously. Spoilers.
Released Date: September 11, 2015
Genre: Thriller/Suspense

Synopsis: With a fulfilling career and a loving relationship, lobbyist Leah Vaughn (Sanaa Lathan) seems to have it all. Things come crashing down when Dave, her long-term boyfriend, questions her future plans for marriage and a family. The resulting breakup leaves Leah heartbroken, until she meets the charming and handsome Carter Duncan (Michael Ealy). Soon, the budding romance turns dangerous as Carter reveals his volatile nature, forcing Leah to turn the tables on the man she thought was Mr. Right.

Okay, let's start off with the fact that Leah Vaughn was in a loving relationship. The beginning of the movie started off well. She was successful and when she goes into that coffee shop, things go downhill really fast especially after her relationship falls apart when she questions her boyfriend as to why he hasn't proposed because she wants to be young and a mother. But he does not want that. Obviously, let's break up because things didn't go your way and you weren't understanding.

You're at a bar, waiting for your friend and friend cancels out of the blue while drunk guy just wants to stick his no-no area into yours.  The guy from the coffee shop that gave you his drink because you guys ordered the same thing, saves your butt from the drunk guy by being very threatening.  Like, whatever man.

Then you ask him to dinner because you're twice in his debt. After a couple months of dating, he meets your parents. He tells you that he loves you. His personality switches, well, like a switch. The slightest things can switch it and a big one of them is getting back with your ex-boyfriend after breaking up with this guy.

This guy is supposedly intelligent and yet, he has no idea that you are prepared to go down fighting. Maybe he's met some resistance before from the ladies but maybe he hasn't. The only part that I thoroughly enjoyed was when the detective was questioning him on several scenes. It is the only part that I found realistic.

Oh yeah, the cat scene where he cat-naps her cat is just stupid. He looks like one of the those villains in superhero movies that always have the swiveling chair, fluffy white cat in their arms, and sits in front of the computer screens. All while petting cat. Like, what? What was the point of taking the cat? If you're going to do something evil or scary. Get rid of it. Don't take it and care for it.

I am a firm believer that there is NO SUCH THING as the perfect guy. He's going to have some part of himself that is going to drive you insane just as it did for Leah. Also, the 'I love you' part was just unrealistic to me because I think that it takes longer than a couple months to know if you love someone.

If I knew this going into the movie, I would not have wasted $8 on it to watch it. I was really looking forward to being thrilled in this movie, for my heart to start beating fast at scenes but nope. I didn't get any of that. I can never watch this movie again and it has no right to be in my movie library.

Obviously, I wasn't very happy with this movie but I will say that I rate this movie a 1.8 out of 5 stars.

Alright, I will blog you later, awesome nerds.

Happy Release Date for Dylan O'Brien and the Scorch Trials! I cannot wait to drink in your beautiful face.
