Review: First off, a huge thank you to the author, Joel Ohman and Xpresso Book Tours for the copy of Meritropolis because they made me give dystopians another try. This book definitely made me giggle and I loved every single moment of this book.

It was a mix of the Hunger Games with their messed up animals, Divergent for the messed up system [not saying that the Hunger Games didn't have a messed up system], and also some crazy messed up dystopian future. I liked this book enough to give it a fair 3.4 out of 5 stars. 

Your score decides your worth to society and whether you live or die. 

I wonder if there will be a sequel because this book does end with a cliffy but you learn to deal with it because not only did they make me laugh with the characters and the messed up society but it definitely was an interesting book. Especially since I never gave the dystopian genre another try after the Jenner sisters' book... Sigh... 

But hey, this book was definitely something worth my time and it definitely wasn't something that I expected. It's definitely a read and an author to watch out for but unless if you are messed up in the mind like me that enjoys seeing our country in a messed up society, this book will not suit your tastes. But if you're looking for next dystopian novel or want to try it out, this is a place to start.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (Movie Review)

What lies ahead are mortal traps, dangerous enemies and moral choices that will ultimately determine the future of millions.
Holy... This movie was so good and in all honesty, I started reading the books over again because you know, I want to become a sentimental sob over everything that is going on. I think that this book is one of the only dystopian series that I tolerated and read within 3 days. Because in all seriousness, Jennifer Lawrence is just an amazing person and I want meet Josh Hutchinson because I kind of fell in love with his little half smile from the shy Peeta. 

This is also the one books series turned into movies that made me well, not angry. Well some parts did but they weren't really relevant. It only slightly bugged me. All Katniss has known from the beginning was loss and despair. But she grew up stronger and independent regardless of what happened to her. 

It's one of the moments where you are just like, yeah, I want to cry and you can't say another word about it because I have been strong for me, you, other damn people in this world. She may be strong but that's only to certain people. Others, like her little sister, Prim, she is the sweetest older sister. Quite possibly like another mother to her because they both lost their father at a young age, putting their mother in a bad state of mind. But that jumpstarted them to becoming more mature. 

I personally love Katniss as a character. She fights for what she believes in and she's not afraid to ever show that things are actually worth fighting for still. She is the fire in people's hearts and she starts to light in other people. Spreading the strength.

Well, in little words to none. I rate this movie a solid 4 out of 5 stars. People who haven't read the books won't understand why they portrayed the things they did in the movie and it makes them confused. Needless to say, I loved the books and the movies. It is quite sad to see this series come to an end.

The Gift (Movie Review)

Genre: Mystery/Thriller

Synopsis: When married couple Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall) unexpectedly encounter Gordo (Joel Edgerton), an acquaintance from Simon's past, little do they know that their perfect lives will be thrown into a terrifying tailspin. At first, Simon doesn't recognize Gordo, but after a troubling series of uninvited encounters and mysterious gifts, a horrifying secret emerges. As Robyn learns what really happened between Simon and Gordo, she begins to question how well she knows her spouse.

Honestly, I am a little upset that I paid $10.00 to see this movie. With all of the hype that was coming into theaters for this movie, I was very excited to watch it. But, sadly, I was disappointed... 

I was expecting a little more action, more suspense, more horror but I guess it was good in its own way. I am going to go ahead and rate this a solid 2 stars out of 5 just because the story was dragged on and I almost fell asleep in it several times. Don't get me wrong, it had one or two moments where I jumped out of my seat, seeing that I was sitting in the way front row so thank you for recliner chairs or else my neck would be completely stiff. 

It was not the thriller that I was expecting and yet I was not completely disappointed but I am not happy about it either. There are no movies other than The Visit and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 that I am excited to see because I mean The Visit actually looks terrifying while Jennifer Lawrence is my favorite actress by far.
