At Any Price - Brenna Aubrey (Gaming the System #1)

Published Date: December 9, 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance/New Adult
Synopsis: Achievement Unlocked: Geek Virgin

When Mia Strong, proud geek-girl and popular gaming blogger, auctions off her virginity online, she knows she'll make waves. But what she will not be making is a love connection. Her rules are set in stone: One night. No further contact.

It's a desperate step, but it's the only way she can go to medical school and pay her mother's mounting hospital bills.

Difficulty Level: Millionaire CEO

Adam Drake, the enigmatic auction winner, is a software prodigy who made his first million at seventeen. Now, in his mid-twenties, he's sexy, driven and--as CEO of his own gaming company--he's used to making the rules. Before Mia knows what's happening, he's found the loophole in the rules of her auction. Every stipulation she's made to protect her heart gets tossed by the wayside.

She can't tell if he's playing her...or if he's playing for keeps.

This New Adult book is intended for readers over the age of 18 due to adult language, sexual content and adult situations.

I was pleasantly pleased with this book for a romance/new adult book because I mean, it's hard to find a good romance without feeling disgusted at every turn. I read Fifty Shades of Grey and that is definitely getting pushed down to like number 10 of my favorite romances because this one came on the list.

I mean, I read this in a day and I really haven't done that for romances before. Of course I had to divide it up due to school but I mean Adam Drake is a hot nerd who meets gaming, beautiful, blogger, Mia.

If I am being honest, it's almost like gaming nerd meets Fifty Shades of Grey because strangely there are some parts that remind me of Fifty Shades minus the BDSM. You feel? It's just vanilla but I mean, it's rich,  self-made millionaire meets innocent girl who turns out to be a virgin, who in turns goes against himself to save her purity and ends up only having vanilla with her. In the end of the book, he ends up hurting her so she runs away to her mom... Sound familiar? Thought so.

Lots of twists and turns that will have you on your toes and want to refuse sleep because you want to finish this book. I will definitely want to read the next few books in the series and again, if you liked Fifty Shades or at least tolerated it, you will love the romance within the book because you're meeting a completely spunky girl that will make you laugh with her attitude.

After this, you'll want to put Adam Drake on your book boyfriends list.

I am going to rate this a good 4.5 out of 5 stars. Read this and you will understand why I feel the way I do.

Grey - E. L. James (Fifty Shades of Grey #4)

Published Date: June 18, 2015
Genre: New Adult/Erotic Romance

Synopsis: See the world of Fifty Shades of Grey anew through the eyes of Christian Grey.

In Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.

Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty—until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him—past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian’s cold, wounded heart.

Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?

WARNING: This book is intended for mature audiences :WARNING

Okay, let's be honest. The Fifty Shades of Grey series was hot and steamy. Grey was just a step up from that and it honestly made me cry seeing what exactly Christian went through as a child. He had no name. Only Maggot. Only little shit. He had nothing but then with the love of Grace and Carrick with their other children, they helped him come out of his shell.

I still do not like the fact that Elena 'helped' him from going down a dark-ass path as his biological mother did. Whenever someone brings up Detroit, it brings up bad memories and so the fact that people do not know his past makes it harder on himself to keep it in.

But when Ana comes into his life, he automatically wants something more even though it is against his nature to be the hearts and flowers kind of guy.

I am going to go ahead and read this a good 3.5 out of 5 stars but hopefully, E.L. James does not stop here and keep going with the rest of the trilogy in Christian's POV because it was really insightful on how he felt about Ana and the development of how he was going to win her back.

He wants the hearts and flowers.

Follow - J.A. Huss (Social Media #1)

Published Date: August 27, 2014
Genre: New Adult/Erotic Romance

Synopsis:#Women.

I fuck them. I use them. I pay them off. I find another. My demands are never denied. My contracts are always signed. They submit to me. Willingly. Completely. Temporarily. This is how it's always been.

Until I saw that filthy tweet.

@VaughnAsher My bare pussy. Your tongue. #ThingsIThinkAboutToGetOff

"FilthyBlueBird" thinks she can tease me with hashtags and then hide behind a Twitter handle? She thinks I wouldn't be more than happy to #RockHerFilthyWorld? She's wrong.

Her online fantasy is about to collide with her public reality, and it's about to happen... now.

I am not quite sure how I felt about this book. J.A. Huss is an interesting writer and I read this book way back June and I guess that I never wrote a review about it. My thoughts were drawn to Fifty Shades of Grey, because the main girl meets handsome, rich, famous guy, bondage, sex, and heartbreak is all involved.

Every single time I read a book like this, I am slightly intrigued. One of my favorite authors is E.L. James and I am waiting for Grey to get into my hands but this is a slightly more modernized book, Fifty Shades of Grey meets, excuse my language but fuckin' Twitter and Facebook and all of that nonsense.

Anyways, my rating on this a 3.8 stars out of 5. It will be up to whether to read it my awesome book nerds but if you are looking for a new genre to read, this is a read for you.
